Scientific knowledge is critical to effective conservation. COBEC’s Research and Monitoring Programme provides the evidence base needed to design, evaluate, and improve our environmental interventions. We work with communities, scientists, and policymakers to collect and analyze data on marine ecosystems and the pressures affecting them.
Our focus areas include marine biodiversity assessments, habitat health monitoring (mangroves, beaches, coral reefs), fisheries stock assessments, climate vulnerability and adaptation studies, and sea turtle nesting and foraging data.
