COBEC is a community based organization. We work to help local communities conserve the natural resources they depend on, protect and restore species and their habitat. Our efforts ensure that the value of nature is reflected in decision-making from local to a global scale.
We work to improve the management of existing marine protected areas (MPAs) and develop effective, long-term conservation strategies to protect and restore key habitats.
We aim to be a global-local educator, fostering global awareness and collaboration while directly engaging with coastal communities and governments to promote behavioral change.
Our current research focuses on species-level population ecology and conservation biology, with considerable overlap between the two areas.
The goal of our habitat restoration is to implement actions that contribute to sustainable and resilient coastal ecosystems world-wide.
